Publication Design
There is clarity in the chaos.
The GoaL:
Create a DeSIGN system for a fictitious publication.
The Details
Apply typographic principles to develop a focused system for a publication, inspired by and applicable with the previously designed wordmark. The final deliverable should apply the design system to a front cover, a table of contents, a feature article, and an interview.
Project time: 8 weeks

The Statement
Post is a memoir of the postmodern era
that creates a pacific space
to host conversation at the end of the world.
that creates a pacific space
to host conversation at the end of the world.
Much of the exploration on what post would be was done in the process of creating the wordmark for the publication. Check that out here, but a summary of the wordmark project can be found below:
Typeface Exploration
The first step was to decide on typefaces that worked with the postmodern aesthetic of the wordmark, gave opportunity for explorational typography, and matched with the postmodern aesthetic of the magazine.
Concept Explorations
Final Design Language
After much exploration, a ruleset was decided on that could be applied to any version of the magazine, and this was pushed far as possible into the final versions of this magazine.
DESIGN
Design for this project was a focusing lens where I found the features that accentuated the message of ironic postmodernism. The chaotic concept was refined through this creative process to get to the final compositions.
